Gotta spread the word!
What word?
NBM is the word. Okay, it's actually more of an acronym but, whatever: it stands for Natural Body Magic, and I guess no more than a few hundred people worldwide know about it.

Since most of my works and my favourites are (and are gonna be) related to NBM, I thought I would spend a word or two on the subject.
Let's start off with this pretty good and exhaustive definition, which I borrowed from TripAtlas.com: tripatlas.com/Natural%20Body%2…

"Natural Body Magic (also called Natural Body Separation) is a paraphilia where the main subject is fantasizing about a person that can be either cut or disassembled into various pieces, and live and function normally. The most common separations are at the neck or at the waist. A common visual example of this is the 'Sawing a woman in half' trick that was popular among stage magicians in the early 20th century. The name was coined by the late wife of one of the community members in the early 2000's. This paraphilia has not been the subject of any research, and may be restricted to very few people.
Usually, people with this paraphilia find the sight of blood very disgusting, and almost always in the fantasy, the cut surfaces are described as covered with normal or slightly darker skin."

I'm not sure about the exact contextual meaning of these three words, but here is my guess.
Magic: the ability to make the impossible become possible.
Body: concerning the human body.
Natural: ordinary, spontaneous, with no bad/unwanted consequences.

So the above article deals fine with the "Body Magic" part but, in my opinion, the "Natural" word needs to be stressed a little more. What really makes such complex fantasies different from violent (and possibly dangerous) fetishes is the separation process itself, which, as I've learned by digging NBM related pictures and short stories around the web, is always depicted as: safe, painless, consensual, reversible.

Besides, though it does have a slight sexual nuance (since the separations are very often visualized on sexually interesting subjects) I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "paraphilia". To me at least, NBM has more of a pure aesthetic value.

Thanks for reading. If you would like to learn more on the subject, I highly recommend to keep an eye on masaka-is-waking journal and deviations.

Have a nice day. :)

And I thought I´d be "unique"... Bless god, I´m not! :D
Very interesting article. Until now I didn´t think anyone could have written something about "however-you-call-it" (NBM, modularity...). Keep this going on! :)
